The shape is as enchanting as its flavor. A massive Figurado, this double-tapered smoke (8.25” X 57) changes from its narrow tip, into its full ring gauge, gradually tapering smaller and thinner introducing richer, more intense flavors throughout the rest of the cigar.

This Robusto is indeed “Royal”, dwarfing other Robustos with a 55-ring gauge on its 5.5” inch length. This cigar smokes very direct compared to the Salomon, with less development start to finish, and more going on from the moment you light it up. Wonderfully smooth yet full bodied, it’s the “Royal Series” experience but requiring slightly less of a time commitment.

This massive cigar was inspired by the private cigar once made for Liquor Baron, Sidney Frank. Although it is an extremely large format (8 2/3" x 54), it is a very accessible cigar offering a rather smooth, creamy medium body to begin with and slowly building through and through ultimately developing a rich full body with darker flavors at the last third. Finally – New York Governor David Patterson has proposed to raise the “Other Tobacco Products” Tax (OTP), which impacts cigars, from 46% of the wholesale price, to a new rate of 90% of wholesale price. We just experienced an OTP tax increase from 37% to 46% one year ago. If passed, this bill would jeopardize the presence of every community tobacconist and cigar shop in the state, while harshly impacting cigar enthusiasts throughout New York. The Cigar Industry lost one of its greatest. Steve Faccenda, our New York Area Sales Manager for Nashville-based CAO International passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2010. He was always a wonderful guy who supported both of our Davidoff stores often whether hosting events, or just stopping in and sharing cigars with the staff and our customers. He was a truly a gentleman, and will be sorely missed by his family at home and his family of cigar enthusiasts.
