The four format line is available in boxes of 25, packs of 4, and a collection box containing one each of Magnificos (Robusto), Notables (Corona Gorda), Deliciosos (Corona), and Sublimes (Petit Panetela). Each cigar is finished with a pigtail and an elegantly embossed golden band at the foot, paying tribute to the original classic packaging and style of the 1940’s Davidoff cigars.

Puro d’Oro Party
We will host a “wrap party” celebrating the final stop in the release tour of these incredible cigars at Club Macanudo on Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 7:00pm-10:00pm at New York City’s Club Macanudo (63rd St between Madison and Park). Tickets are $200 per person and seating is extremely limited. The evening will begin with an open bar from 7pm-8pm followed immediately by a seated formal dinner and fabulous wines as well as a full compliment of the new Davidoff Puro d’Oro. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are non-refundable.

Another issue
Now, while I never take a political position in this Newsletter, it is our obligation to report news when it relates to the well being of our valuable friends and customers. New York Governor David Patterson has proposed to raise the Other Tobacco Products Tax (OTP), which impacts cigars, from 46% of the wholesale price, to a new rate of 90% of wholesale price. We just experienced an OTP tax increase from 37% to 46% one year ago.

If passed, this bill would jeopardize the presence of every community tobacconist and cigar shop in the state, while harshly impacting cigar enthusiasts throughout New York. I urge every one of you to visit this site, read the details of this outrageous proposal, and contact the listed legislators. This 11th hour proposal is on the table, and if we don’t all take action will undoubtedly pass. Please join the fight to save us and other local premium tobacconists!!!
